Kurt has over 30 years of diverse experience in the commercial and residential real estate industry with a unique blend of corporate expertise in real estate portfolio strategy, global transaction management, real estate finance, lease administration, valuation and real estate technology. For the past 13 years, he has held senior corporate real estate positions with Philips, TripAdvisor, Nuance Communications and Biogen, where he led the search for a new global corporate HQ, negotiating the $1.8B lease.
Kurt previously held a variety of roles with Big Four and boutique management consulting firms, including Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young and Coopers & Lybrand, where he led cost management, portfolio optimization, organizational design and operational assessment projects for clients such as Capital One, Thomson Reuters, State Street Bank, CVS Caremark, Kimberly Clark and Motorola Mobility. He has also worked for a real estate technology company and as the account manager for an outsourced service provider to a Fortune 100 client. He started his career as a civil engineer performing design and construction administration activities.
Kurt earned a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and his MBA in Real Estate Finance from the University of Connecticut. He is also a retired Lt Colonel in the US Army Reserve where he served as a career Corps of Engineer Officer for 24 years.
